About Misionero

Misionero Inc. is a trading company connecting South America and Japan.

“One who carries a mission”—
bringing South American value to Japan.

Misionero is Spanish for “one who carries a mission.” The company was born out of a sense of purpose formed in the Americas, and we build serious business between Japan and the wider world.

We deliver high-value products across food, apparel and lifestyle, and at the same time we make sure producers on the ground are paid properly and can stand on their own. That is not charity work. It is business done honestly, with our hands dirty.

Everything we do comes back to one belief: that the gap between rich and poor in this world can be closed.

What we stand on

Mission

Missionaries without borders,
creating opportunity

Through trade between the Americas and Japan, we create new opportunities for people and for regions. As a bridge in the supply chain, we open possibilities that would not otherwise exist.

Vision

A world where fair value meets fair value,
and opportunity reaches everyone

We use the functions of a trading company to narrow the gap between developed and developing economies — so that producers, consumers and everyone in between get an equal chance.

Value
  1. A storyteller without a colour of our own — we look at value without prejudice, and we tell it as it is
  2. A mood-maker who satisfies all three sides — we protect win-win relationships, and we start and finish with a smile
  3. A value-giver who hides nothing — we deliver value openly and stand behind it

Where this company
comes from.

They had nothing to spare, and still they gave me more than I could carry. I wanted the world to know how good South America is.

Our founder, Akinobu Takeuchi, first left Japan at fifteen and spent years travelling. A year living self-sufficiently in the Amazon is where Misionero begins.

That is why the company carries a Spanish name. We are not visiting South America to take something out of it — we are trying to put its value in front of people who will pay properly for it.

South American Specialty Coffee

Specialty coffee
from South America

We import high-quality South American specialty coffee ourselves and sell it both to consumers and to businesses. We exhibit at coffee festivals and at retail venues including PARCO across the Kanto region, and our coffee is used by professionals — among them a Japan Brewers Cup champion.

  • Wholesale to professionals, including a Japan Brewers Cup champion
  • Coffee gift wholesale and our own e-commerce store
  • Private-label drip bag production from 50 bags
  • Adopted by a World Heritage-listed ryokan and used for corporate gifts
We can produce coffee in your own packaging, with your logo, from small quantities.
Libre
South American Gluten-Free Foods

Gluten-free food
built on cassava

We develop food products from cassava, a South American crop that works well without gluten. Test sales are complete and repeat customers are growing. OEM production is being set up now, and we plan to move beyond sweets into other food categories.

  • Gluten-free sweets made with cassava
  • Test sales complete, repeat demand growing
  • Applicable to bread, noodles and food products generally
  • OEM production currently being established
Cassava is a capable South American raw material, and it reaches well beyond confectionery.

INDY
South American Handcraft & Goods

Handcraft from
South America

We import traditional crafts and handmade goods directly from producers across South America — alpaca products, hand-woven textiles, woodwork and ceramics. We build these relationships on fair-trade terms so that they can last.

  • Alpaca and wool products — knitwear, blankets and more
  • Traditional-pattern textiles and hand-woven pieces
  • Woodwork, ceramics and leather goods
  • Wholesale for corporate gifts and novelty items
Buying directly from the makers is what makes these pieces impossible to find elsewhere.

Business DX & System Development

Digitalising
the back office

We digitalise the everyday work of small and mid-sized companies, retail operations and event businesses — the places where hands and resources run short. We cover accounting, customer management and inventory, so our clients can put their attention back on selling and on the work they are actually good at.

  • Accounting and sales management systems
  • CRM introduction and operational support
  • Inventory and ordering systems
  • Operational efficiency for retail and event businesses
Automate the admin work nobody has time for, and put that time back into growth.
